Mr. Siedman is responsible for identifying investment opportunities for Hovde Capital Advisors, particularly in the bank and thrift sectors. Prior to joining the Hovde organization, Chris spent nine years as an independent and sell-side equity research analyst at Seaside Financial Research, Friedman Billings, and UBS. He also held senior debt analytic roles at Merrill Lynch and Fitch Ratings, after having started his career as a bank regulator at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Having spent more than 18 years analyzing financial institutions of every stripe, Chris has spoken at several industry conferences, been frequently quoted in national print media publications including Barron’s, Business Week, The American Banker, and Crain’s Business Journal, and has appeared on financial television programs such as CNBC’s Morning Call, Kudlow & Cramer, BloombergTV, and PBS’s Nightly Business Report.
Mr. Siedman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences with concentrations in economics and business management and holds series 7, 63, 86, and 87 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He is married and has three daughters.
