Mr. Johnston is responsible for assisting in the identification, analysis, and valuation of investment opportunities for Hovde Capital Advisors, particularly those in the bank and thrift sector. Additionally, Mr. Johnston is occasionally called upon to assist in the trading of investments.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Mr. Johnston attended the University of Virginia, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. While earning his Bachelor’s degree, Mr. Johnston interned as an equity research analyst in the community bank and thrift sector at Friedman, Billings, Ramsey. Today, he enjoys monitoring all aspects of the banking sector, especially Credit Union, Mutual, and MHC conversions.
