Mr. Swanson is responsible for the analysis and valuation of investment opportunities for Hovde Capital Advisors. In addition, in his role as an Assistant Portfolio Manager, Mr. Swanson assists in the management and construction of the funds managed by the Advisor and is responsible for monitoring overall portfolio risk and construction and overseeing the Advisor's team of Investment Analysts.
Prior to joining Hovde Capital Advisors, Mr. Swanson was an Equity Analyst at Johnston, Lemon & Co., where he was responsible for providing research coverage of the banking and financial services industry, with a focus on regional banks and thrifts.
Mr. Swanson received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Virginia, and is a member of the Washington Society of Investment Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research. Mr. Swanson also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is licensed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a registered representative.
