Richard T. Murray III Senior Investment Analyst

At Hovde Capital Advisors, Mr. Murray is responsible for the evaluation of investment opportunities within the housing, construction, and real estate sectors.  Before joining Hovde, Mr. Murray spent over seven years as an equity research analyst following the housing and real estate sectors for Raymond James & Associates, Inc. in St. Petersburg, FL. Prior to this, Mr. Murray was employed by A.G. Edward Sons, Inc in St. Louis, MO.  Mr. Murray also has previous real estate experience with Gundaker in St. Louis, MO. 

Mr. Murray’s research and stock picking have been recognized by The Wall Street Journal, Fortune Magazine, and Forbes/Starmine.  He has also appeared numerous times on financial and national news television programs such as CNBC’s Squawk Box, Morning Call, Kudlow & Company, Bloomberg, and The Nightly Business Report and has been quoted extensively in national print media publications.  

Mr. Murray graduated magna cum laude from Saint Louis University with a B.S. degree in Finance.  He holds series 7, 86, and 87 licenses from the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Mr. Murray is married with one son, and lives in Washington, DC.
