Richard A. Sbaschnig, CFA Senior Investment Analyst

Mr. Sbaschnig is responsible for the evaluation of investment opportunities in the insurance sector.  Before joining Hovde Capital, Mr. Sbaschnig was an equity research analyst following the insurance sector for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in New York City. 

Prior to Oppenheimer, Mr. Sbaschnig was employed by Swiss Re, a global reinsurance company, as part of an internal consulting team.  He has appeared on CNBC’s Squawk Box, published numerous articles in insurance trade journals, and been quoted by the financial media.

Mr. Sbaschnig graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. degree in Economics and the London School of Economics with an M.S. in Economics.  He is married and has two children.
