William B. Rubin Senior Investment Analyst

Mr. Rubin is responsible for identifying investment opportunities within the bank and thrift sectors for Hovde Capital Advisors. 

He has 16 years experience on the investment management buy-side, including 14 years focused on the financial services sector as a Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager.  Before joining Hovde Capital, Mr. Rubin was a Senior Analyst in New York for Dawson-Herman Capital Management.  Previously he worked as a Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager with The Boston Company Asset Management and with Keefe Managers Inc., both in New York.  Mr. Rubin also worked with Fidelity Investments as a Senior Analyst and Portfolio Manager in Boston.  He twice was recognized by Institutional Investor magazine as one of their “Best of the Buyside,” was recognized by The Wall Street Journal for his sector stock picking, and has appeared or been quoted by different financial news networks, such as CNBC and Bloomberg.

Mr. Rubin received his Masters in Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School with concentrations in competition & strategy and finance.  He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University in two majors – economics and political science.  He is married with two daughters, and lives in Vienna, Virginia.
