Mr. Timothy's responsibilities
at Hovde Financial include structuring and negotiating merger
and acquisition transactions, providing valuations of banks
and thrifts, and identifying and implementing strategic
alternatives for banks, thrifts, and other financial services
institutions.
Prior to joining
Hovde Financial, Mr. Timothy was with The Carson Medlin
Company, an investment banking firm specializing in providing
corporate finance services to community financial institutions
in the Southeast. While there, he advised management
and directors of community banks on strategic options, provided
capital planning, served clients on sell-side mergers, buy-side
acquisitions and branch divestitures, and provided numerous
types of bank valuations (including closely-held, going-private,
core deposit intangible, and goodwill impairment valuations).
Mr. Timothy has
also worked for Florida Progress Corporation (a Fortune
500 Company and the former parent of Florida Power) in their
Strategic Analysis department. In this capacity, he was
involved in a number of merger and acquisition, strategic
planning, and corporate finance projects. In addition,
Mr. Timothy was the Assistant Controller for the New York
Yankees baseball organization.
Mr. Timothy is
a CPA. He earned his BA in Finance from Catholic
University in Washington, DC, and his BA in Accounting from
the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. Mr.
Timothy is licensed with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority as a registered representative and a general securities
principal.
Mr. Timothy is married with three
children.
