Mr. Gilbreath is responsible for evaluating the financial and strategic options of financial institutions, performing financial analyses and valuations of banks and thrifts, facilitating merger and acquisition transactions, and assessing the impact of national and regional trends on the financial services industry.
Prior to joining Hovde Financial, Mr. Gilbreath was a Senior Consultant at Deloitte & Touche. As part of the Capital Markets practice, he focused on strategic risk and regulatory issues affecting large banking and securities firms. His engagements ranged from the construction of a capital reserve calculation methodology based on SEC regulations to the drafting and implementation of controls and accounting procedures for investments in special purpose entities. Mr. Gilbreath was additionally tasked with researching new regulatory issues affecting the capital markets and the attendant development of various service offerings to meet client objectives.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Gilbreath has a B.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from The George Washington University. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
